Trip: Adventures in Oman (Eid Al Adha Holidays)
When: Tuesday 27th June to Friday 30th June 2023. (4 Days/3 Nights). Assuming Tuesday 27th June to be the first Day of Eid holidays, subject to change as per Eid holidays.
Where: Omani Wadis, Beaches and Mountains
Difficulty Level: Beginner/Family
Trip Details: This is a 4 days/3 nights guided trip full of unending adventures and fun, starting with a visit to the second largest cave chamber in the world “Majlis-e-Jinn”, camping at the 1700 meters “Selma Plateau”; having fun hike through the water filled “Wadi Shab”; Camp/Guest House Stay at famous “Turtle Beach” at Ras Al Jins; and then camping at the cool altitudes of 2000 meters at the green mountain of “Jebel Akhdar”, followed by visit to the famous fruit plantations.
Trip is suitable for children and families.
Plan:
Day 1 – Morning of first day of the Eid Holiday
· Leave UAE in the morning and cross into Oman through one of the border posts
· Take a break on the way, have food, buy supplies etc.
· Continue our drive and visit Bimmah Sink hole, and Majlis Al Jinn (4×4 required). This is an exciting drive through mountain tracks.
· By the evening, reach our campsite at Selma Plateau at an altitude of 1700 meters for a pleasant night under the stars.
Day 2
· Have leisurely breakfast while enjoying crisp mountain air and amazing views
· Drive down to the sea coast and go for an exciting hike through water filed Wadi Shab with fresh water pools and water fall.
· After Wadi Shab, we drive to the famous Turtle beach at Ras Al Jins. Enjoy another night either in a camp or a Guest House. We can visit the turtle beach during the night or early morning the next day to watch the egg-laying by the famous green back turtles, who travel to this part of the coast from the deepest part of the Indian Ocean.
Day 3
· Start the day with an early morning visit back to the beach to see Turtles returning back to the ocean after laying eggs.
· Pack up and start the drive to reach Jebel Akhdar for a walk through pomegranate and other fruit orchards.
. Depending upon the weather and our pace of drive, we will take stop over on one of the famous wadis on the way.
-Optional Camping at Jebel Akhdar/or drive back to the UAE.
Day 4
· People who chose to camp at Jebel Akhdar only for one night, wind up the camp and prepare for drive back to the UAE.
· Cross into UAE by afternoon and back home before evening
. you may chose to spend another day at the cool environment of hill, may chose to stay there and return the next day.

Preparation:

1. Your vehicle/ride (A 4X4 or a high clearance Cross-over vehicle is necessary for Selma Plateau and Jebel Akhdar)
2. Oman Visa (it may cost you anywhere from Free to RO 20, based on your nationality)
3. Camping gear (Tent, sleeping bag/mat, Chair, Table, Lights)
4. Lantern, Flashlight, Mobile Charging Powerbank
5. Toiletries, Soap, Water to wash, Toilet paper etc
6. Self catering for trip duration, if you need to buy supplies/ready food from local outlets, we can guide you.
7. Change of clothes, and swimwear
8. First Aid pack
9. Sturdy footwear, preferably closed shoes/trainers, slippers/sandals
10. One bundle of firewood for each camping night, per car

Transportation: Your own transportation (4X4 /high clearance Crossover vehicle is necessary for Selma Plateau and Jebel Akhdar)
Contribution:
AED 200.00 per person, for full trip (Children below 10 are free). Minimum attendance of 10 participants is necessary for trip to take place.

You may want to stay at a Guest house at Turtle Beach/Jebel Akhdar. If so, make your own arrangement or let us know if you require our support to arrange the same.
Exclusions:
-UAE border exit fees and Omani visa fees.
-Any food and beverages for the trip
-Any Guest house stay
– All entrance / guide fee, if you chose to visit any access-controlled facility
